Atoka![]() Daryl Walker, Mayor of Atoka
On behalf of our community, I am pleased to extend a warm welcome to you. Whether you are a business looking to expand, a family looking to relocate or a service member whose orders are bringing you to west Tennessee, Atoka is a great place for you to call home. The past twenty years has seen extraordinary growth in Atoka – transforming the community from a sleepy hollow of 750 to a bustling town of more than 8,300. In 2010, Bloomberg Business Week magazine ranked Atoka as Tennessee's Best Affordable Suburb based on our low property taxes, excellent schools and affordable home prices. Atoka is perfectly situated with a small town, community feel and quick access to the Memphis area. Being just north the Shelby County line provides Atokans with a comfortable lifestyle and all of the opportunities available in a major metropolitan area. Our elected leadership is engaged in the community, forward-thinking and responsive to the needs of our Town. We are committed to protecting the quality of life that has spurred Atoka's growth over the past two decades while moving our community to the next level of excellence. Atoka is served by the Tipton County school system and home to Atoka Elementary School – the only straight "A" elementary school in Tipton County in 2010. A quality education system, coupled with a dynamic faith community, outstanding parks and recreational opportunities and safe neighborhoods makes Atoka an ideal town for families and for business. I hope you'll consider making Atoka home. I am excited for you to explore our friendly and ever-expanding community. More information regarding Town services is available online at www.TownofAtoka.com. We look forward to welcoming you to Atoka .
