The Town of Atoka has leaders with visions to the future. Our progress is exhibited by our growth in population from 659 in 1990 to well over 6,191 now. We have had great success in the growth of our residential and commercial areas making the town one of the fastest growing communities in West Tennessee.

There are many reasons for our growth. First, we have a wonderful group of elected officials that are responsive to our citizens' concerns. I am available anytime you need me and will come to you if necessary. Second, we have a low property tax rate. When you compare our tax rate to the surrounding areas, you will see moving to Atoka can save you money. Third, we have a first class police and fire department manned by some of the finest and most dedicated group of professional men and women in their field.

Many military personnel are proud to call Atoka their home, and we are proud to call them Atoka's citizens. Our populace is friendly, warm and down to earth. With our low crime rate, excellent school system, numerous active churches and planned recreational activities, you will find Atoka to be an excellent community in which to raise a family, grow old and retire in.

The Town of Atoka is located in the northern border of Shelby County, and we are only a quick ten-minute drive from the base. Atoka has many wonderful homes located within some of the finest neighborhoods in the area to choose from. We even have a brand new elementary school slated to be in operation by 2008. We offer big city conveniences with a small town atmosphere.
