Recreation & Entertainment

The mighty Mississippi River forms a natural western boundary for Tipton County, and the Hatchie River forms the northern boundary, providing the public with numerous recreational opportunities such as boating, fishing, skiing and camping. The Hatchie River is a slow-moving waterway, excellent for canoeing, as it has been designated by the state as the only natural scenic river left in West Tennessee.

The Mississippi River Corridor Project encompasses Tipton County and five other counties in West Tennessee. One of the Chickasaw Bluffs that provides a spectacular overview of the river and valley is located in South Tipton County in Randolph. The Project strives to conserve the natural Corridor along the Mississippi River in Tennessee while creating ways for people to access, experience, enjoy and learn about the Tennessee stretch of the Great River. Here's their link: Mississippi River Corridor is something to see!

A seasonal attraction, Fletcher’s Corn Maze, draws hundreds of people to Tipton County. Appearing as surely as the football season and falling leaves each September, the maze is created by Farris Fletcher, a retired teacher, using graph paper to map each year’s design and a weed-eater to carve it out. In addition to the maze, there is a hayride to the pumpkin patch where children are allowed to pick a pumpkin while supplies last. Also, each night Fletcher stokes a bonfire for cooking hotdogs and roasting marshmallows. The maze is open September through November. For more information, call Fletcher at 901-476-9257 for more information.
